No doubt, soda is one of the favorite drinks of the present era and its consumption has been increased by massive advertising campaigns as undertook by coke companies to promote their brands involving celebrities. Though, soda is very popular with masses yet,   it has some ill health effects that can have serious health consequences. Below are mentioned some affects of drinking soda on health.

  1. Soda and Tooth Decay: Habit of drinking Soda has been seen as with a deteriorating effect upon tooth too.  As sugar consumption in soda is told for tooth decay.  Acid in soda is responsible for tooth decay and even leads to extent of causing dental cavities as well. You would not believe that soda can even start damaging enamel 20 minutes after drinking it.
  2. Caffeine Dependence: The regular drinking of soda can cause Caffeine dependence   as causing problem for the brain development in children. As Caffeine dependence increases as far as with increased consumption of Soda and decreases when consumption of Soda is being decreased.
  3. Soda and Obesity: As soda happens to be high in sugar and calories, therefore, there is a natural chance of soda increasing the obesity. Soda let drinkers to have extra ponds without providing them with any nutritional value.
  4. Soda and Weight Gain: There, one more presumption is added with drinking diet soda, which directly relates it with weight gain. Though, soda directly is not responsible for weight gain, yet when it is mixed up with beverages leads to a sedentary lifestyle yet resulting into a weight gain.
  5. Weakening of Bones: By drinking soda one can also cause harm to his bones. Some studies have shown that phosphorus is soda takes away calcium from bones. Drinking soda can leads towards the broken bones.
  6. Acidic Effects of Soda:  It is seen that people cling to diet soda in order to avoid the sugar and calories in regular soda. Though drinking diet soda is not a proper solution to this problem. There are many artificial sweeteners used in diet soda even can cause to health issues too.
  7. Soda and Dehydration: Caffeine in sodas can be addictive to a few people and also promotes dehydration and obesity. Diet soda can not replace water or milk as a source of re-hydration.
  8. Soda and Diabetes: As soda is only a liquid sugar and acid an average American consumes 39 grams of sugar per can.  Drinking soda not only puts pressure upon one’s tummy by making one obese but also puts pressure on one’s ability to process sugar.
  9. Soda Addiction: Another concurrent problem with soda consuming people is that they tend to become addictive towards consuming soda, and make it habit to consume it thus moves ahead to diseases resulting from soda consumption.
